The Confucius Temple in the Imperial College is different from the Confucius Temple that Adrian Tang visited later.
This Confucius Temple is located behind the Imperial Academy. Like the Biyong Palace, students are not allowed to enter it at ordinary times. Except for the anniversary of Confucius' death, only once every three years during the autumn and spring examinations will the students participating in the imperial examinations enter the Confucius Temple to worship and pray for blessings, led by the chief priest.
They first passed the gate of their predecessor's teacher and then the Forest of Steles for Jinshi scholars. Adrian Tang and the other two were cautious in their words and actions, not daring to look up, and followed behind Eunuch Ji.
I don't know how long I walked before I arrived at the Chongsheng Temple in the deepest part of the Confucius Temple. Eunuch Ji shook his whisk and smiled, "I have come here. Please go in, three students."
Adrian Tang and the other two said, "Thank you, eunuch."
