The morning was over and the sky was just beginning to get light.

Emperor Zhao Fu of Kaiping left the Chuigong Hall, surrounded by eunuchs, and went to the altar to practice meditation. A whole row of eternal lamps were placed on the iron frame, and the young eunuchs carefully filled the oil lamps for fear that the candles would go out. Inside the altar, there were white curtains all around, and the air was filled with fairy air.

After sitting in meditation for an hour, Zhao Fu asked softly, "What time is it?"

Ji Fu immediately came in from outside the palace and helped the emperor change his clothes. The emperor was going to the Qinzheng Palace to review the memorials. He said, "It is already the morning hour, Your Majesty."

Zhao Fu said "hmm" and was surrounded by eunuchs and taken to the Qinzheng Hall.
