In the first year of the Zhengde reign, on August Bingchen day, Jinxiangwei of Wenzhou Prefecture reported that the pirate Niu Xishan had been captured and his identity had been confirmed, and he was being sent to Shuangyu the same day.
Niu Xishan was the third in command who failed to assassinate Shen Yue and was "provoked" by the pirates, so he jumped into the sea and committed suicide.
On that day, the pirates reported to Shen Yue that Niu Xishan was dead.
Shen Yue ordered the arrest of Niu Xishan's family and trusted subordinates and threw them all into the sea.
Some people who had always been good friends with Niu Xishan said that his wife and children were not guilty of the crime. Some pirates took advantage of the opportunity to leave the ship and secretly told Niu Xishan's family members and confidants to pack up and leave the island as soon as possible.
