Thousands of people from Shaoxing gathered at the city gate. They gathered here late at night to celebrate the Victor Zhuy in the counterattack against the rebels and to share some food. At least 70% of them had not eaten for nearly two days.
"Sir, general, please give us some food." An old man suddenly knelt down at the gate, blocking the cars outside that were about to enter the city.
"I have lived for more than 60 years. It doesn't matter if I starve to death, but my grandson is only seven years old. Please help me!"
