Mason touched its head for a long time before saying, "I'm sorry."

But the black cat didn't understand the apology. It probably just felt that the man's touch made it feel comfortable, so it relaxed its guard and closed its eyes.

After saying "I'm sorry", Mason felt even more upset. He stood up, took out a pack of cigarettes, and walked to the side to smoke one and take a breath. But just as he lit the cigarette, he saw the black cat following him silently.

Mason turned off the lighter, took it aside, and said to the cat who was staring at him on the ground, "Go over there. I want to smoke."
