Ethan Lin's yard is very large, surrounded by a wooden fence, and there are lush and neatly planted plants in the yard. It is the height of spring, and the black soil is covered with a layer of emerald green grass. Stepping on it feels like stepping on a soft carpet. In the middle of the yard, there are various trees with blooming stamens, including pears and cherries, all in full bloom, a lively scene. Only a thin peach tree in the corner is out of tune with the surroundings. The peach blossoms are not much taller than a person, and the branches are slender and dry. The whole tree is hung with a peach bud that has not yet bloomed, which looks particularly bleak.
As soon as Thomas Lin put Ethan Lin on the ground, Ethan Lin walked towards the peach tree. When she got to the tree, she looked at the thin peach tree and sighed, "Why can't it grow up..." Then she stretched out her hand and stroked the rough trunk heavily a few times, sighing in the tone of coaxing a child, "Forget it, if it can't grow up, it can't grow up. At least it has buds, which is much better than last year."
This peach tree was picked up by Ethan Lin from the foot of the mountain many years ago. He was still a teenager at that time. However, time flies. He has reached the age of twenty, and the peach tree is still thin and small, and it looks pitiful that it will sway in the wind. After saying this, Ethan Lin remembered something and quickly looked at Thomas Lin standing beside him and said, "Second brother, please don't replace my peach tree."
Thomas Lin was not surprised when his brother saw what he was thinking. "This peach tree is not big. Wouldn't it be better to change it?"
Ethan Lin said: "Not everything can be replaced."
Thomas Lin smiled and said, "I only know that those who make you unhappy are not good people."
Ethan Lin looked helpless, knowing that some things just didn't make sense to her second brother. Although Thomas Lin seemed gentle, he was actually the most stubborn among the four of them. Ethan Lin had no choice but to reiterate that she liked the peach tree very much and asked her second brother not to touch it.
Thomas Lin nodded slightly, agreeing with Ethan Lin's words. Ethan Lin felt relieved after seeing this.
The yard and attic here are always cleaned. Even though Ethan Lin hasn't lived here for a long time, they are still kept as clean as when she left.
Ethan Lin went into the attic and asked her second brother to go about his own business. Before leaving, Thomas Lin said that there were some outsiders outside, and if Ethan Lin didn't like it, he would have someone drive those people down the mountain.
Ethan Lin hurriedly said no need.
Seeing that his expression did not seem fake, Thomas Lin said no more and turned away. However, there was a hint of gloom between his brows, and he looked quite unhappy.
He just came out of the yard and said as if to himself: "Is this how you spoil me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a breeze blew past his cheek, and the surrounding scenery seemed to be distorted for a moment as if it was burned by fire. A man in dark clothes suddenly appeared beside the road. Judging from his eyebrows, he was somewhat similar to Thomas Lin, but his features were colder and harder, and there was a frost in his black eyes.
"That's just the way Xiao Jiu is." the man said, "Who in the family doesn't want him to be a bad-tempered, arrogant and domineering little ancestor?" Ethan Lin's nickname is Xiao Jiu, which is taken from the meaning of immortal leek.
Thomas Lin said coldly: "Then why isn't he?"
The Lin family is the most protective of their children, and Ethan Lin, the youngest son of the Lin family, is the most favored one in the Lin family. Even though he is a useless person who cannot even lift a sword, everything he has to use should be the best. He should have developed the character of a little bully who doesn't care about anything, but now he is so calm, which makes him feel distressed and gives him some inexplicable anger.
The man raised his eyebrows: "A dragon gives birth to nine sons, each with its own unique characteristics. You have a domineering personality, so you can't expect Xiao Jiu to be the same as you."
Thomas Lin snorted coldly, said nothing more, turned around and left.
The man did not call him, but just glanced in the direction of Ethan Lin's yard and sighed again.
Ethan Lin didn't know that his two brothers had quarreled because of him. He was the youngest in the Lin family, with two older brothers and an older sister. But unlike his leisurely self, they were all gifted children selected from thousands of people.
The path of sword cultivation is a hundred times more dangerous than the ordinary path to immortality, and what they experience is naturally a million times more difficult.
When Yu Rui in the attic heard that Ethan Lin had returned, she hurriedly picked up her long skirt and ran to the front hall in small steps.
"Master, Master!" The thirteen or fourteen-year-old girl was at her most lively, her voice was as clear and melodious as an oriole, and the listeners' mood also improved. She shouted and laughed, and rushed towards Ethan Lin, "Master, you are finally back!"
"Well, I'm back." Ethan Lin said, catching the maid who rushed towards him, "You're so big now - I can't catch you anymore."
"Master!" Yu Rui acted coquettishly.
Ethan Lin said, "Go and make me a pot of hot tea. The young master is thirsty."
"Okay!" Alice Rui was a child at heart. After hearing what Ethan Lin said, she jumped up and down to make tea. Ethan Lin's personal servants were only these two maids, named Emily Hua and Alice Rui. Emily Hua came earlier, was older, and acted more steadily. Alice Rui was not yet fourteen years old this year. In terms of temperament, she was just a half-grown child. Ethan Lin was naturally gentle, and they had a separate courtyard, so the temperaments of the two maids were more lively than those of other servants.
After a while, Yu Rui came over with a pot of hot tea. She carefully poured tea for Ethan Lin, raised her eyes and carefully looked at the young master in front of her, pouting her lips: "Young Master, you have lost weight."
"Really?" Ethan Lin didn't feel anything.
"Of course!" Yu Rui said unhappily, "I worked so hard to make you fat, but after living in the mountains for a month, you became thin again."
Ethan Lin just smiled and didn't respond.
Yu Rui's chirping nearby made the yard seem less lonely. Ethan Lin took a sip of the tea in the cup and her eyes fell on the plants in the yard, but her gaze seemed to pass through the plants and saw another scene.
"Alice Rui." Ethan Lin suddenly spoke, his nose twitching slightly, "Do you smell anything?"
Alice Rui sniffed her little nose, looking confused: "What's that smell?"
"It looks like peach blossoms..." Ethan Lin distinguished carefully.
"Peach blossom?" Alice Rui asked, "How can there be the fragrance of peach blossom? The peach tree in the yard has only one bud. Oh, it's so disappointing. It's a pity that you water it every day, young master." The maid stamped her feet in anger, as if her master had been bullied. "Even if the water was poured on my head, I can at least get two flowers, right?"
Ethan Lin laughed dumbly: "What are you going to use to open it?"
Yu Rui shook her head and said, "If it doesn't work, go find the Second Young Master. There is always a way."
What he said does make some sense. Given Thomas Lin's personality, if Ethan Lin really wanted to see a romance blossom on someone's head, I'm afraid he could really find a way.
"You go and get busy." The spring sunshine always has a warm feeling when it shines on people. Ethan Lin felt a little sleepy because of the sun. He squinted his eyes and said lazily, "I'll take a short rest."
"Hey!" Seeing that her master was tired, Yu Rui stopped talking and quietly retreated.
Then the attic fell silent.
Ethan Lin half-closed his eyes, and in a trance, the fragrance of peach blossoms became stronger and stronger. In his blurred vision, he seemed to see the endless peach forest, and in the depths of the peach forest, stood a man in red. This illusion flashed by, and when Ethan Lin opened his eyes again, all he could see was the pitiful peach tree standing in the yard, and he didn't know if it could survive until the next spring.
Ethan Lin made a decision and decided to go to the peach forest at the foot of the mountain to see the peach blossoms on the hillside tomorrow.
The next morning, Ethan Lin wore a fox fur coat, led a white horse, and went out in the drizzle. The maid Emily Hua stood behind him, holding an oil-paper umbrella with a landscape pattern. Her young master insisted that the rain of apricot blossoms would not wet his clothes, and refused to hide under her umbrella. Therefore, the spring rain as fine as dust sprinkled a layer of fine light on the young master's black hair.
The Matthew Sword Conference is approaching, and many strangers have come to the vicinity of Matthew Mountain, making it quite lively.
On the mountain road, a modest young man was walking with his horse. He was wrapped in a thick fox fur coat, a little thin, handsome, and pale, looking weaker than an ordinary person. But the most eye-catching thing was his pair of light-colored eyes. The pupils should have been black, but they looked like a smudged ink painting. Although the color was light, it was clear and bright. There were a few drops of drizzle on his eyelashes as long as crow feathers, and at first glance, they seemed to be glowing with a light color. Behind the man walked a beautiful maid, holding an oil-paper umbrella in her hand, with a resentful expression. It seemed that she wanted to hold an umbrella for the young man, but was rejected. The soil on the mountain road was a little wet after the rain, but only the footprints of the young man were left on the mountain road. Looking carefully, it was discovered that the maid's feet were floating in the air, about half an inch from the ground.
The further down the mountain you go, the more people there are. Once you exit the gate of Matthew Mountain, the surroundings suddenly become lively. Although it is raining, the surrounding markets are not affected at all. The practitioners who came to visit the sword meeting but could not enter the inner field took this opportunity to sell all kinds of things, including magic weapons, weapons, and even various Taoist talismans.
Ethan Lin has been weak since childhood and seldom went to crowded places. At this moment, she was watching with great interest.
"Hey, young master, would you like to take a look at my powerful talisman paper? It's cheap and easy to use. I guarantee you won't be cheated or hurt by buying it." The peddler looked Ethan Lin up and down and shouted to him enthusiastically. Ethan Lin's attire showed that he was a rich young man, but he didn't wear a sword. I guess he came here to watch the fun.
"How powerful is it?" Ethan Lin asked with a smile.
"This is the talisman. You can sneak to other places immediately after using it! It can help you escape a disaster!" the vendor kept talking. "And it doesn't require any magic power. Anyone can use it!"
"So good?" Ethan Lin asked, "How much do you sell it for?"
The vendor said, "It's cheap, very cheap." He rolled his eyes and said with a smile, "Five spirit stones are enough!"
"Five spirit stones, why don't you grab it?" Emily Hua was not as polite as her master. When she heard the vendor shouting out the price, she glared at him. "This talisman paper is not even fully painted. Who dares to use it? If you use it, your head will be transported away, and your body will remain where it is. Can you bear the responsibility?"
The vendor wanted to retort, but he noticed the sword on Emily Hua's waist. He swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth, and his expression became much more honest. He smiled awkwardly: "Hey... this business always requires a process. If the girl feels it is not suitable, just make a bargain. We can discuss it."
"Half a piece." Emily Hua said unceremoniously, "No more."
The vendor cried out twice, then made a painful expression and said, "Okay, okay, we haven't opened yet today, so I'll just make a small loss, half a Lingshi is half a Lingshi." He added, "If there are any sequelae, I won't be responsible."
Emily Hua glared at him, took out spirit stones from her purse to pay the bill, then took the talisman paper from the vendor, carefully checked it, and made sure there was no problem before handing it to her son.
Ethan Lin just bought it for fun. After taking it, she casually stuffed it into her sleeve and went somewhere else.
From the gate of Matthew Mountain to the foot of the mountain, there are tourists and vendors everywhere. The weather is not very good today, so there are not many people, but for Ethan Lin, it is lively enough.
Ethan Lin walked down the mountain while looking around. Her mood was not affected by the gloomy weather and instead improved a lot.
When they arrived at the town, they were not far from the peach blossom forest. Ethan Lin stopped and pointed to the other side of the town: "Emily Hua, I want to eat white rice cake."
Emily Hua said: "Then please wait for me right here, I will go and buy it right away."
Ethan Lin said, "You go ahead, I'll go ahead, come find me when you buy it."
Emily Hua handed the umbrella in her hand to Ethan Lin and frowned: "Young Master, open the umbrella, be careful not to catch a cold."
Ethan Lin didn't say anything, but took the umbrella, raised her chin slightly, and signaled Emily Hua to go quickly. Emily Hua turned around, tapped her toes, and disappeared at the end of the street after a moment, like a swift swallow.
Ethan Lin did not hold an umbrella, but put the umbrella on the horse's back and walked slowly towards the peach blossom forest.
Although it was raining, the town was still bustling, with pedestrians walking on the bluestone streets with umbrellas. This town was born from the Matthew Sword School and has been prosperous for a hundred years.
The biggest wish of the people in the town is to pass the examination of Matthew Sword Sect. Even if they become the lowest outer disciple, it is something to be envied. If they can't do it themselves, they still hope for their sons and grandsons, generation after generation, there is always hope.
Ethan Lin saw the peach blossom forest from afar.
In the misty mountains, peach blossoms are everywhere. When the breeze blows, the peach petals are blown up by the breeze and fall on people's hair and shoulders.
When Ethan Lin saw this scene, a smile appeared on her lips and she walked briskly towards the depths of the peach forest.
Perhaps because it was raining, the peach blossom forest was not as lively as usual. The petals fell to the ground and turned into spring mud along with the dirty black soil. The ground was slippery, and Ethan Lin followed the path and gradually entered the depths of the peach forest.
The surroundings were quiet, with only the rustling sound of falling rain. Ethan Lin was immersed in this quiet beauty, but she heard a burst of cries coming from afar. The cry was very harsh and it was obviously the cry of monkeys. When Ethan Lin heard the sound, her face changed instantly and she turned and ran away.
But he was alone, and could not run as fast as the monkeys. In less than a moment, he was surrounded by the monkeys. It was unknown what species these monkeys were. They were very different from ordinary monkeys. Not only were they tall, but their fur was also a beautiful golden color, very dense and smooth, without any trace of dirt that could be found on wild animals.
The monkeys quickly surrounded Ethan Lin, blocking every exit in front and behind. Seeing this, Ethan Lin smiled bitterly, quickly spread her hands, indicating that she had nothing on her, and sighed helplessly: "Do you know me? Every time I come here, I am blocked once---"
The leading monkey was very pretty, a circle bigger than the other monkeys, with beautiful golden eyes. He was squatting on a peach tree closest to Ethan Lin, blinking and staring at the delicate young man in front of him. Ethan Lin also saw it, and the man and the monkey just stared at each other. I don't know if it was Ethan Lin's illusion, but he always felt that after he said this, the monkey's eyes actually showed a hint of smile.
"I really didn't bring anything." Ethan Lin reasoned with the Monkey King, "I didn't have time to buy the snacks you like. By the way, I didn't come alone this time. Emily Hua went to buy rice cakes---"
When the Monkey King heard the name Emily Hua, he reacted. His beautiful golden eyes moved around cleverly, and finally stopped at Ethan Lin. At this moment, Emily Hua's distant voice came from outside Taoyuan: "Young Master---"
Ethan Lin smiled and said, "See, I didn't lie to you."
The Monkey King waved his hand, and the monkeys began to retreat into the depths of the peach forest. However, it did not move, and kept squatting on the branch, waiting for the monkeys to disperse, until the last monkey disappeared into the depths of the dense forest. Suddenly, the Monkey King stood up from the branch and pounced towards Ethan Lin.
Ethan Lin was startled by the monkey's action and took a few steps back reflexively, but the monkey flew over his head and disappeared quickly in the peach forest. Ethan Lin felt as if it patted his temples with its hands, and he was a little amused and felt that this group of monkeys was really bullying people. It would be fine if they didn't get snacks, but they had to pat people twice to vent their anger.
"Young Master." Emily Hua had come behind Ethan Lin at some point, holding a few pieces of rice cakes wrapped in paper in her hands. The rice cakes were still steaming hot and gave off an enticing sweet fragrance.
"Floating flowers." Ethan Lin turned around, "So fast."
Emily Hua was slightly stunned when he saw Ethan Lin's face. There was a gorgeous peach blossom inserted in the corner of Ethan Lin's temple and she was looking at him with a smile. In the misty rain, Ethan Lin was like a beauty walked out of a painting. Her whole body was light black and white, and only the peach blossom by her ear was like the finishing touch. It was really a beautiful face and peach blossom.
"Emily Hua?" Seeing Emily Hua's dazed look, Ethan Lin called out again.
Emily Hua came back to her senses, looked away awkwardly, took a few steps forward, carefully handed the rice cake in her hand to Ethan Lin, and said softly: "Master never uses an umbrella, his clothes are almost soaked..."
Ethan Lin just smiled and said nothing. He opened the oil paper and took a bite of the hot and fragrant rice cake. His eyes curved with joy: "Delicious."
Emily Hua looked at her young master tenderly, took the umbrella from the horse's back, and held it above Ethan Lin's head.
The rice cake is very fragrant, and it feels glutinous and soft in the mouth, just like the taste of childhood. Ethan Lin had been in poor health since childhood. Before he was ten years old, he had never been down from Matthew Mountain. Until one year on his sister’s birthday, she secretly stuffed little Ethan Lin into a bamboo basket without telling her parents, and secretly carried him on her back and brought him down from Matthew.
That day, Ethan Lin tried all the snacks in the town, including Zhang's candied haws and Chen's white rice cakes, which were all children's favorites. Ethan Lin enjoyed the food very much. However, that night, she developed a high fever and the matter was exposed.
Because of this incident, her sister Lin Weirui was punished to reflect on her mistakes on the top of a mountain for three months, and no matter how Ethan Lin begged, it was useless.
Ever since that time, Ethan Lin knew that she was different from her brothers and sisters. If their lives were like burning flames, then her own was like a shaky candlestick. When a gust of wind blew, the flame would burn more vigorously, but the candlestick would only go out.
The rain was getting heavier and the ground was getting more muddy. Emily Hua tactfully asked Ethan Lin if she was alone here just now. Ethan Lin was very confused by her question and asked Emily Hua why she asked this question.
Emily Hua smiled and pointed at Ethan Lin's temples.
Ethan Lin raised his hand and touched it, and he actually touched a bunch of wet peach blossoms. He immediately remembered something, and felt angry and amused at the same time; "These monkeys - are they really bullying people like this!"
"Those monkeys are here again?" Emily Hua frowned upon hearing that, and murderous aura filled his whole body.
Ethan Lin likes to appreciate flowers and comes to this peach forest every spring. However, she is not sure when she started to be spotted by monkeys in the peach forest. Once, Ethan Lin sneaked down the mountain without her. The monkeys not only robbed Ethan Lin of food, but also tore him apart. When he came back, the Lin family thought he was robbed. Emily Hua gritted her teeth secretly, thinking that it was fortunate that the second young master didn't know about this, otherwise the monkeys would have died long ago.
Ethan Lin knew what her maid was thinking, so she smiled and sighed, "They are just a bunch of naughty monkeys, why take them so seriously?"
"But they bullied the young master." Emily Hua was unhappy, "Fortunately the young master didn't have rice cakes, otherwise they would have been taken advantage of by those beasts."
Ethan Lin just smiled when she heard that and threw the peach blossom in her hand aside.
The dripping raindrops hit the oil-paper umbrella, making crackling sounds. Ethan Lin walked in front, and Emily Hua held the umbrella behind her. After walking for an unknown amount of time, Ethan Lin looked at the dark sky and knew that it would not clear up today, so she said with some regret that she would go back first.
Emily Hua was happy to hear this. After all, Ethan Lin's body and head were all wet at this moment. She was afraid that her young master would catch a cold, but she was also worried that she had said too much and annoyed Ethan Lin.
Now that Ethan Lin herself has proposed to go back, that would naturally be the best thing.
"Young master, get on the horse." Emily Hua said gently.
Ethan Lin was not stubborn and stepped into the stirrup to sit on the docile white horse. Emily Hua then gave the umbrella to Ethan Lin and led the horse in front, heading towards Matthew Mountain.
When passing by the town, Ethan Lin heard a melodious flute sound coming from the town. He looked in the direction of the flute sound and saw a small bridge and a swordsman wearing a bamboo hat beside the bridge. The swordsman leaned against the bluestone beside the bridge and the flute sound came from his mouth. However, the strange thing was that he could only hear the flute sound but could not see the instrument. Ethan Lin happened to pass by him, and the swordsman reached out to hold the bamboo hat, and a narrow green eye appeared from the gap.
Emily Hua looked at the swordsman with some vigilance in his eyes, but Ethan Lin nodded slightly at him with a smile in her eyes, as a greeting.
The swordsman did not return the greeting and put his hat down, as if he didn't see Ethan Lin. Emily Hua was about to attack him when she saw this, but Ethan Lin just called her name softly and shook her head.
Emily Hua snorted coldly, but secretly remembered the man's appearance.
Judging from the look in this man's eyes, he should not be from their continent. Perhaps he came from another continent to join in the fun. But no matter where he came from, as long as he arrived at the foot of Matthew Mountain, who would dare not give face to their Lin family?
Ethan Lin listened to the flute and was in a good mood as she chanted a poem by an ancient elder: "Spring is quiet, and the night is long. The blue sky and the Chu Palace are far away. My soul is used to being free in my dreams, and I step on the poplar flowers and cross the Xie Bridge..."
Emily Hua asked, "Master, what does this poem mean?"
Ethan Lin smiled and said, "A fool had a spring dream."
The floating flowers seem to understand but not quite.
The sound of the flute gradually faded away, and Ethan Lin returned to Matthew Mountain.
When they got to the yard, it was already dark and Ethan Lin was a little tired. Emily Hua was afraid that Ethan Lin would catch a cold, so she hurried to boil some water and urged Ethan Lin to take a bath to get rid of the cold. Ethan Lin hesitated for a while before getting into the bathtub.
The bathtub was very big. When Ethan Lin sat down, the water just covered his chin. Emily Hua deliberately closed the bathroom window before leaving. Ethan Lin soaked for a while, but felt a little dizzy. He stood up again, propped himself up and opened the window.
Outside the window was his flower-filled yard. Against the backdrop of the surrounding scenery, the thin peach tree looked even more lonely. Ethan Lin was soaking in hot water, only to discover that at some point the only bud on the peach tree had blossomed into a soft little flower.
The small flower has only five petals and is light pink in color. It is not as lively as the peach blossoms blooming down the mountain. After being hit by the rain, it looks even more pitiful. Ethan Lin was a little anxious when she saw the flowers blooming. The rain was getting heavier and heavier. His peach tree finally had such a single flower. What if it withered again after being hit by the rain?
What you worry about is bound to come true. Just as Ethan Lin thought of this, a strong wind blew by, and one of the petals of the small flower fell off, swaying and about to fall on the muddy ground.
Ethan Lin widened her eyes and was about to call the maid's name, but another gust of wind came, and the petals were swirling in the wind, and actually came towards Ethan Lin. Seeing this, Ethan Lin did not care that she was not wearing any clothes, and hurriedly stood up and stretched out her hand to catch the falling petals.
The petals swayed and fluttered, and were about to fall into Ethan Lin's palm, but then a gust of wind blew, and the petals were blown directly onto Ethan Lin's cheek. Before Ethan Lin could react, she felt a pink shadow rushing into her eyes with the breeze.
Ethan Lin covered his eyes with his hands reflexively. He felt something attached to his right eye. It was cold at first, and then a burning temperature came over him.
"Ah..." The cry was suppressed in his throat. Ethan Lin lost consciousness due to the sudden severe pain. He fell limply into the bathtub filled with hot water. Soon, he was pulled into a bizarre dream.
In a dream.
Ethan Lin saw the fiery red peach forest for the first time. Unlike ordinary pink, the peach forest in front of her was so rich in color that it seemed to be melted by fire. In the peach forest, a shadowy figure stood deep in the peach forest. Ethan Lin could only see his back. The man was dressed in red, had black hair, and a long sword slung diagonally across his waist.
The heaven and earth began to shake, peach blossoms filled the sky, Ethan Lin looked up and saw the bloody sky, and heard a voice, but the voice was not as fascinating as the scenery in front of her, but rather carried a hint of exasperation, the voice said: "How am I not as good as those mediocre women at the foot of the mountain---you actually went out of your way to see them---"
The next moment, Ethan Lin suddenly woke up from her dream and heard her maid knocking on the door outside, as if she was about to break in.
"Young Master---Young Master---If you don't respond, I'll really come in." Emily Hua hadn't heard Ethan Lin's voice for a long time. Her first reaction was that her young master had fainted, and she was anxious to come in to see what was going on.
Ethan Lin quickly said: "I'm fine, don't come in."
"Master! Why didn't you answer? I was scared." Emily Hua was relieved when she heard Ethan Lin's voice and complained, "But do you want to soak for a while longer?"
"No need." Ethan Lin felt a little dizzy, "I'll get up."
Emily Hua hummed, still a little worried, and continued to guard the door, occasionally chatting with Ethan Lin. Ethan Lin knew what her maid was thinking, but she was not annoyed. He picked up the towel and wiped the water off his body, but felt a little uncomfortable in his right eye. He raised his hand and touched his right eye, thought of something, stood up and walked towards the glass mirror next to him.
This glass mirror was a gift from his sister. Unlike ordinary bronze mirrors, it could reflect the human figure very clearly. Ethan Lin approached the mirror with the candlelight, and when she saw her face in the mirror clearly, she was stunned. She saw that his right eye, which was much lighter than that of ordinary people, had a floating peach blossom in it. The peach blossom was so light in color that it seemed like a petal of fallen flowers accidentally blown into his eyes by the wind.
Ethan Lin rubbed his right eye heavily to make sure it was not an illusion. He turned around hurriedly, changed his clothes, and then said to Emily Hua who was waiting outside the door: "Emily Hua, where is my second brother?"
Emily Hua asked in confusion: "The Yu'nan Daniel Gu family just arrived in Matthew today, and the second young master seemed to have gone to pick someone up. Young master, what happened?"
Ethan Lin took a deep breath and said, "It's okay. You can go down first." He paused for a moment and said, "Go and inform my second brother to come over as soon as he is free."
Although Emily Hua didn't understand, she still followed Ethan Lin's instructions and left the yard to find Thomas Lin. Ethan Lin smiled bitterly and covered her right eye, hoping that things were not as bad as she imagined.
