On the eighth day, it snowed heavily.

The maid Emily Hua was carrying a large bamboo basket in her hands. She was not tall and was wearing a simple cotton dress. She walked lightly on the steep mountain road.

At this time, the snow was getting heavier, and the sky and the earth were all white. The treetops and the ground were all covered with thick snow. The mountain road was steep, and Emily Hua's steps were not fast, as if the heavy snow had hindered her speed. But if someone looked carefully, they would find that the distance between each of her footprints on the snow was exactly the same, not more or less.

There were no birds or animals in the mountains, only the rustling sound of falling snow. After walking for an unknown amount of time, Emily Hua, who had been expressionless all along, exhaled a white mist, a smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, and her steps quickened. She walked around a tall crooked pine tree, and a tall pavilion came into view.

The pavilion was built on the cliff, complementing the crooked pine tree next to it. The pavilion has two floors and is covered tightly with bamboo curtains on all sides. The bamboo curtains look ordinary at first glance, but actually contain mysteries. No matter how strong the wind and snow are, they cannot be blown away at all.

Emily Hua walked to the front of the pavilion, the smile on her face became even more intense. She reached out and lifted the bamboo curtain, and called out in a sweet tone: "Young Master..." But as soon as she called out "Young Master", she found that the pavilion was empty. The smile on her face suddenly froze, and turned into anger and worry. She put the bamboo basket in her hand heavily on the ground, and turned to walk towards the mountain behind her.

Emily Hua held his strength and went up the mountain path. Finally, he saw the person he was looking for on a big rock halfway up the mountain.

It was a young man wearing a snow-white fox fur coat. He had his back to Emily Hua and seemed to be looking at something intently. He didn't even realize who was behind him. His black hair was simply tied behind his head with a hairpin with a yellow flower wood floating cloud pattern. A few strands of hair hung by his ears, fluttering in the cold wind.

He didn't know how long he had been here. A thick layer of snow had accumulated on his head and shoulders, as if he would completely blend into the cold mountain in front of him in the next moment.

Emily Hua frowned and called softly, "Master."

The young man turned his head, revealing a handsome face, thin lips, straight nose, delicate eyebrows and beautiful eyes, but his eyes, which should be black, were a little lighter than those of ordinary people. At first glance, it would give people the illusion that he was empty. Perhaps because he had been frozen for too long, his lips had a light purple hue, which was not offensive, but rather had a kind of ink-like elegance. However, this elegance made people feel as if he was about to disappear.

"Master!!!" Seeing the man's appearance, Emily Hua was annoyed. Without caring about anything else, she quickly stepped forward and complained, "How long have you been out? It's so cold, what if you get frozen!"

The man was sitting on a rock. When he heard his maid's rebuke, he looked a little guilty. He quickly stood up from the rock, patted the snow off his body, and said softly, "I stayed in the pavilion for too long. I'm tired, so I want to go out for a walk."

"Master!!!" The maid had a lot to say, but when the words came to her lips, she swallowed them back. Looking at the man's appearance, she could only complain in a low voice and urged her master to return to the pavilion quickly.

The young master responded, but his feet did not move. He blinked his pale eyes and said innocently, "Emily Hua, I found something interesting."

Emily Hua said: "What?"

The young master said, "Come and see."

Emily Hua pursed her lips and walked to the young master. She looked in the direction he pointed and saw a small beige flower on the stone covered with snow. It was trembling in the cold wind, so fragile that it seemed like it would be uprooted by the biting wind at the next moment.

"How can there be a flower?" said Fuyun, "It's already winter..."

"I'm curious, too." The young master smiled with his eyes narrowed, "so I looked at it for a while longer. Let's go back." As he spoke, he gently stroked the tender petals of the small flower with his hand, his movements were very gentle.

Emily Hua saw the young master's actions and frowned slightly, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she followed the young master quietly and softly urged him to go back quickly.

The little yellow flower was still swaying in the cold wind until a sword energy suddenly came from nowhere and cut off the little yellow flower at the roots, breaking it into fine dust in the wind.

The young master slowly walked back to the pavilion, opened the curtain, and felt a wave of hot air blowing towards him. There were several pots of charcoal fire burning in the middle of the pavilion, keeping the entire interior dry and warm. However, the smell of the charcoal fire inside made the young man bend down and cough a few times. An abnormal blush appeared on his originally pale cheeks, which made the maid Emily Hua frown again.

"Master." Emily Hua said hurriedly. "I prepared some pear water for you to moisten your lungs. I asked Alice Rui to buy the pears yesterday. They are fresh. Drink it while it's hot."

The young master waved his hand: "Drink later." He sat down on the recliner, casually draped the white fox fur coat beside him, propped his chin with his hand, and casually looked through the gap in the bamboo curtain at the snowy scene outside. Although the bamboo curtain had gaps, it was not windproof, as if there was something invisible separating the outside from the inside.

"Master." Emily Hua whispered, "You should have dinner." She bit her lower lip, and her beautiful face showed a woman's unique tenderness and sorrow. "You haven't eaten for a whole day."

The young master did not answer but asked: "Has the sword meeting started?"

"It's started." Emily Hua responded softly, "The Second Young Master said, if you want to go and see..."

"No." The young master said, "Let's have dinner."

Emily Hua sighed happily and quickly took out the food she had brought from the bamboo basket one by one and placed them in front of the young master. She muttered: "The peach blossoms at the foot of the mountain are in bloom, and old man Zhang who sells candied haws has not started work yet. I was thinking of asking Alice Rui to buy two strings for the young master. Doesn't the young master like his candied haws the most? And the white rice cakes from Chen's shop... Young master... Young master..." As she spoke, she found that the man in front of her stopped moving his hands, his head was slightly tilted, his breathing became gradually even, and even his eyes were closed.

Emily Hua opened her mouth slightly, then closed it again. She did not wake the man up, but sat quietly beside him. The food in front of her was still emitting a rich aroma, and the charcoal basin in the room occasionally made crisp crackling sounds. She stared at the person in front of her, and a dull sigh seemed to escape from her chest. She swallowed the sigh abruptly, and in the end, her eyes were filled with pity that almost overflowed.

Matthew has jade, which is famous all over the world. However, what is more famous than Matthew jade is the swordsman named Lin on Matthew Mountain.

Those who seek the path to immortality are as numerous as fish swimming in the river, and only a few of the best are mediocre. However, the Lin family, a prominent family in Matthew Mountain, is able to produce a great swordsman whose sword can shock the world. This has been the case from generation to generation for thousands of years.

Emily Hua's young master is the youngest son of the head of the Lin family, named Ethan Lin. When Ethan Lin was born, a strange phenomenon appeared in the sky, and thousands of birds flocked to the phoenix. The evening glow turned into a flying firebird, circling Matthew Mountain for a long time, until night fell, when it reluctantly dispersed.

Therefore, the Lin family also placed high hopes on this youngest son and named him Ethan Lin.

Feifei is the king of jades. They hope that this child can be as beautiful as the most beautiful jade on Matthew Mountain.

However, the opposite happened.

When he was three years old, Ethan Lin was determined by the ancestors of the Lin family that he could not practice swordsmanship. He was weak and even weaker than ordinary people. He could barely walk until he was two years old, and he called his parents for the first time when he was three years old. With such talent, he can only be described as dull.

Ethan Lin was not sleeping very deeply. He tilted his head and drooped heavily, waking up suddenly from a light dream. Through his sleepy eyes, he saw his maid Emily Hua half-kneeling on the cushion in front of the table, staring blankly at the food that was still steaming. Ethan Lin shook his head to wake himself up from the trance, picked up the chopsticks lazily, and continued to eat.

Emily Hua also came back to her senses and looked happy.

The food was very exquisite, and every dish was Ethan Lin's favorite, but he ate carelessly and seemed to be distracted the whole time.

Emily Hua asked, "What are you thinking about, young master?"

Ethan Lin said: "The peach blossoms at the foot of the mountain are blooming, are the monkeys still there?"

Emily Hua said softly, "Of course I am. Do you want to go see the peach blossoms?"

Ethan Lin was a little discouraged: "Then I won't go to see it."

Emily Hua said: "If the young master is unhappy, I will go down the mountain and drive those monkeys away."

Ethan Lin shook her head and said nothing.

The climate on the mountain is different from that on the mountain. It is spring at the foot of the mountain, and everything is reviving. There is a lush peach blossom forest near Matthew. The peach blossoms are in full bloom, and many people come to admire them. However, there is a group of annoying monkeys in the peach blossom forest. There are quite a lot of them, and they often bother passers-by. However, these monkeys are also very discerning. If they see someone who is difficult to deal with, they will never attack him. Instead, they often bully scholars and girls who are powerless.

"You go." Emily Hua wanted to say something, but Ethan Lin waved her hand, signaling her maid to leave, "I'm a little tired."

"Master, let's go down the mountain." Emily Hua begged, "It's so cold here, and you're weak. If you get sick from the cold, the second master will tear my head off."

Ethan Lin smiled and said, "It's okay, I will stop you."

Emily Hua advised again: "If you don't want to stay in the mountains, we can go around and relax."

Ethan Lin was unmoved, she just closed her eyes, indicating that she was going to sleep. Emily Hua was so angry that tears welled up in her eyes, and after a while she said aggrievedly: "Then Emily Hua is really gone."

"Go ahead, be careful." Ethan Lin said, "Bring me some books next time. I'm almost done reading this one."

Emily Hua nodded, then reluctantly got up and left the pavilion.

Ethan Lin closed his eyes, as if he was asleep, until Emily Hua's figure disappeared in the wind and snow. Then he opened his eyes again. There was no trace of sleepiness in his eyes, but rather they were full of cunning.

Ethan Lin casually picked up the fox fur coat beside him and put it on. Without even putting on his shoes, he ran all the way to the mountainside. However, when he arrived at the place, he did not see what he wanted to see.

"Hey, where is the little flower?" Ethan Lin covered his mouth and coughed a few times, "Wasn't it here just now..." He looked around the big rock for a long time, but couldn't find the little yellow flower he had just discovered. Just as he was wondering, he was patted lightly on the shoulder.

When I turned my head, I saw a man in green clothes with a sword slung across his body, looking at me gently.

Ethan Lin's expression froze. After a long time, she called out in a mosquito-like voice: "Brother." This person was her second brother, Thomas Lin.

Thomas Lin asked: "What are you looking at?"

Ethan Lin said: "... just taking a look."

"How long will we stay in the mountain?" the man asked again.

Ethan Lin felt an itch in his throat. He knew the situation was not good. He wanted to cover his mouth with his hands to suppress it, but his body began to shake violently.

Seeing this, Thomas Lin sighed softly: "If you want to cough, just cough. How can I blame you?"

Ethan Lin smiled bitterly, and as soon as she loosened her hands, she started coughing and gasping for breath, almost passing out.

"The scenery at the foot of the mountain is beautiful, and the peach blossoms are in bloom." After Ethan Lin calmed down, Thomas Lin said, "Let's go down and take a look. It's cold on the mountain, so it's not suitable to stay for long."

Ethan Lin knew in her heart that he was doing this for her own good, so she could only nod in agreement.

But the man was not someone who could be easily fooled. He raised his chin slightly and motioned Ethan Lin to pack her things so that he could take him down the mountain.

Ethan Lin had no choice but to walk slowly towards the pavilion. The man did not urge her and slowly followed behind him.

There was nothing to pack in the pavilion. Ethan Lin looked left and right, and finally just took a volume of "Mountain and River Records" which she had just read half of last night.

Thomas Lin looked at the book in his hand and asked him how much he had read.

"I've read most of it." Ethan Lin asked with a smile, "When you traveled in the mountains, did you go to all the places mentioned in the book?"

"Most of them are gone." Thomas Lin said calmly, "It's not interesting."

Ethan Lin just smiled and didn't say anything.

Seeing Ethan Lin put away her things, Thomas Lin reached out his hand and took Ethan Lin into his arms and hugged her. When Ethan Lin was about to protest, Thomas Lin glanced at him and said, "Do you want Emily Hua to carry you down?"

Ethan Lin was speechless for a moment, as if being carried down the mountain by a girl was not much better.

"I'm your brother." Thomas Lin's voice was as cold as ice. "If anyone dares to gossip, I'll cut off his tongue."

After hearing this, Ethan Lin had no choice but to stop talking and let Thomas Lin go - he knew that Thomas Lin was not saying anything harsh.

Because of his qualifications, there were some rumors in Matthew Mountain. After returning from the tour, Thomas Lin found all those gossipers, challenged them one by one, defeated them one by one, and cut off their tongues one by one with his natal sword named Tianxiao. From then on, no one in Matthew Mountain dared to say a word against Ethan Lin, even if he was a waste who couldn't even lift a sword.

Thomas Lin carried Ethan Lin out of the pavilion, tiptoed, flew into the air, and went down the mountain.

The wind and snow in the air were all blocked by the sharp sword energy. Ethan Lin half-closed his eyes, his long eyelashes casting a faint shadow under his pale skin. The smell of ice and snow in his nose gradually melted away, and when he opened his eyes again, the surroundings were already a spring scene with blooming flowers and green grass.
