One side of the fish beside the fire had already turned slightly yellow, and the cross-shaped cuts on the fish were roasted and opened, revealing the snow-white meat underneath. Aiden Shao held the warm steamed bun in his mouth, squatted over to stir the fire, smeared a layer of oil on the fish skin, sprinkled salt, ginger powder, cardamom powder and a little fennel seeds, turned it over and continued to slowly roast it.

Orion Hanjiang pinched the steamed bun skin and fried shrimps, eating them one by one, until his mouth was dry, and he drank some hot soup made with stir-fried cattails from a small porcelain spoon beside him. Master Shi Nian, a monk who was not supposed to eat or watch people cook meat, was not picky about the meat oil in the dishes. He sat opposite the plate of fried shrimps, eating the toasted steamed buns, and picking up the stir-fried cattails with a hint of fried shrimps with chopsticks one by one, eating very enthusiastically.

Taoist Master Shao felt a little sorry and said guiltily: "I should have cooked more dishes for the master, but unfortunately there are only cattail leaves nearby. It would have been better if the pumpkin, lotus root, mushroom, eggplant, pine nuts and hazelnuts I brought from home were not eaten up in the past few days." As he said that, he broke open the steamed bun, stuffed a full layer of fried shrimp into it, and began to eat it. It was fragrant and crispy.

The master silently picked up a piece of cattail with chopsticks and chewed it with a crunching sound.

The grilled fish behind him was almost done, the fat dripping down the stick and falling onto the flames, causing an explosion. Master Shao finished his steamed bun in a few bites, went back to the fire and turned the grilled fish over, and when he saw that it was almost cooked, he simply took one and flipped it over the flames, so that the fish meat that was turned out from the knife edge would also be browned as soon as possible.
