Aiden Shao hurriedly packed up the leftovers, put out the fire, tied the grass carp around its neck, and prepared to set off with the master.

Since they were already at the river bank, they planned to go down along the river. Where there was a river, the vegetation grew more densely, there were small animals that came to drink water by the river and they could hunt them, and it was easier to find places where people lived. However, the land near the river was soft and muddy, and it was not as easy to walk as on the dry mountain land. He cut two thick branches from a nearby area and made them into crutches. He and the master each took one.

Both of them were frequent mountain hikers, and were used to slightly bending their knees and putting their whole body weight on their heels when walking, so that their center of gravity was shifted backwards and they were less likely to fall. The branches in their hands were only used for slight support, and when they came across bushes, they would reach forward to scare away snakes, insects, rats, ants, and the like lurking in them.

After rushing downstream for a while, the weather became noticeably warmer. The sun shone through the gaps in the dense forest, flashing into people's eyes from time to time.

Unknown small insects also flew out from the grass and dense woods by the river, making buzzing sounds. Taoist Shao was walking in front and was the first to bump into a group of them. He almost inhaled a few of them into his nasal cavity when he took a breath.
