When the ground shook again, the snake man stopped and listened, and felt that the whole hotel was shaking.
"What happened? An earthquake?" Felix's teacup knocked over and he jumped up in panic.
"It's not an earthquake." Serena also stood up. "The smell of burning is spreading. It's the Griffin who made the noise."
"What did you say?" Felix said. "He was a three-year-old! He and Tubby had a fight!"
"Take your axe!" said Serena. "We can't stay here any longer."
