The new subordinate is cold and indifferent, has outstanding abilities, and is not easy to get close to. The only person he cares about is Alex Ye, his boss.

When Alex Ye heard that he was going to move out, he kindly took him in.

After living together, Ethan also helped him cook, wash clothes, clean, and take care of his needs...

Alex Ye realized later that something seemed to be wrong.

The leaves repeat the same life every day.

I slept until 7:30 in the morning and was woken up by the alarm clock that rang countless times. I went into the bathroom with messy hair, brushed my teeth, washed my face, changed clothes, ran downstairs to buy breakfast, took the subway, and arrived at the company at the last minute.

"Good morning, Chief Editor Ye."

"morning."

"Good morning, Editor-in-Chief Ye."

"Good morning."

After greeting his colleagues with a smile along the way, Alex Ye walked into the editor-in-chief's office carrying breakfast. His office was at the innermost part and he had to walk through an office area. Just as he put down his suit jacket, someone called him again.

"Editor-in-Chief Ye."

The voice is steady and deep, without any ups and downs.

"Didn't you have breakfast again?"

The young man knocked on the door and walked in. He was wearing a clean and tidy suit without a single wrinkle. He had broad shoulders and long legs, and a tall figure. He was obviously several years younger than him, but his aura was several times superior to his.

Alex Ye seemed to be caught, and he hooked his fingers on the bag of breakfast and smiled at him, "I haven't had time to eat it yet."

Ever since he forgot to eat breakfast last time and almost fainted from stomach pain, the young man would remind him every morning when he saw him.

He leaned back against the edge of his desk, tore open the wrapper of his breakfast, and took a big bite of his lettuce and bacon sandwich. He ate so quickly that he almost choked after just two bites. He turned around to look for water and a dark mug was handed to him.

Alex Ye raised his eyes to glance at the young subordinate in front of him, curled the corners of his lips, said thank you, reached out to take the mug, and his fingertips accidentally brushed against the other's hand. He didn't notice and held the cup to his mouth.

"It would be even better if it was coffee."

Alex Ye took a sip of water from the cup, his lips still slightly raised, and spoke while eating a sandwich.

The young man was standing next to him. When he was touched, he curled his fingers slightly and retracted his hand a little unnaturally. "It's best not to drink coffee on an empty stomach."

He said this as if in a reminder, lowered his brows, and looked away. While looking away, he placed the manuscript he brought on the desk.

"This is the interview transcript from yesterday afternoon." The topic returned to work. The awkwardness just now disappeared in an instant. The young man's voice was as deep and magnetic as usual. "Emma Sha has already read it. Let me show it to you again."

Alex Ye put down the cup after hearing this, glanced back, and raised his eyebrows slightly, "The interview with the character yesterday afternoon? It was written so quickly."

Although he had known about the young man's work efficiency for a long time, there was still a hint of surprise in his tone. Other editors always submitted their manuscripts before the deadline, but he always finished them ahead of schedule and with a high degree of completion.

"Okay, I'll take a look in a moment." Alex Ye quickly ate the last bite of the sandwich, threw away the wrapper, and wiped his hands with a tissue, "You go ahead and do your work."

The young man nodded and stood there without leaving. He watched Alex Ye walk around the desk and sit on the office chair, then pick up the cup and turn around to walk into the tea room on the other side.

Alex Ye paid no attention to his actions. He turned on the computer as usual and checked his emails. When he was taking the documents, he caught a glimpse of the steaming coffee on the table. He raised his eyes and met the young man's deep and dark eyes, only to find that he was still there.

The young man also looked at him: "You can drink now."

Alex Ye pursed his lips and smiled, then said thank you again.

The young man then took two steps and looked back at the person in front of the desk. The bright sunlight outside the floor-to-ceiling windows cast a soft glow over the person. His thin body was wrapped in a suit vest, outlining a slender and slim waistline.

When he reached the door, the young man stopped and said before closing the door: "Don't forget to eat breakfast tomorrow."

Alex Ye stared at the computer screen intently, uttering a few perfunctory syllables without even raising his head: "Hmmmm..."

By the time he finished replying to the email, the person had already left. He picked up the coffee and took a sip, leaning back in his office chair, and picked up the interview manuscript that the young man had just handed him.

The person to be interviewed in next month's monthly magazine is a well-known fashion designer who has won many awards abroad and has frequent contacts with their publishing house. He also cooperated in the fashion exhibition held last year.

Alex Ye read the manuscript and found nothing that needed to be revised. When he saw the last page, his eyes swept over the two words at the end and he couldn't help but look at them twice.

Hearing too.

That was the young man's name.

There was another knock on the door, and someone pushed the door open. Alex Ye thought it was the young man who had returned, so he didn't look up and was still concentrating on the interview manuscript in his hand.

"Okay, okay, I get it," he replied, "I'll remember to eat breakfast."

The person who came in walked to the desk and said in a calm tone with a hint of surprise at the end, "You actually remembered to eat breakfast?"

Alex Ye raised his eyes. It was not the young man, but Emma Sha mentioned by the young man, his old partner, and also the deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine department.

"I ran into Editor Simon downstairs in the office this morning. He told me not to forget to remind you. It seems someone has already reminded you."

Emma Sha wore a beige dress today, with a belt of the same color, high heels, and a silk scarf with thin white stripes around her neck. She looked graceful, steady and capable.

As soon as she arrived, she started talking about work. "The cover photos for the next issue have been taken. Some of them are pretty good. I asked Grace to send them to your email."

"Also, I need your confirmation on the topic of next season's fashion show."

"I've seen the photos." Alex Ye became serious and said while handling his work: "As for the selection of the theme of the autumn and winter fashion show, I will notify everyone to hold a short meeting later to discuss it and choose the cover together."

"Okay, I'll ask Grace to notify everyone now. The meeting will be held in the conference room at 9 o'clock sharp." Emma Sha is as efficient and effective as she is. As soon as she finished speaking, she asked her assistant Grace to send a message in the department group.

Before leaving the editor-in-chief's office, she turned around and said, "Liam Wen showed me the interview draft he wrote this morning. I asked him to look it over with you again."

"Yes, he came to see me." Alex Ye did not give a direct comment. He just paused and adjusted his tie with one hand. "The next in-depth interview can also be given to him."

Shallia nodded in understanding.

The meeting started at exactly nine o'clock. Alex Ye walked into the meeting room on time, and a busy day began.

Alex Ye works for Xingchao Publishing House, which is located in the CBD area of   Shenshui City and is quite influential in the industry. He works in the fashion magazine department and is the executive editor of "LIGHT". "LIGHT" focuses on fashion and covers all aspects such as fashion, cosmetics, entertainment, and art. It is one of the top high-end fashion magazines in the fashion industry and is also known as the "fashion weathervane".

Alex Ye organizes a topic selection every week, and the editors propose different plans, which are discussed and revised together to select the most interesting, novel, attractive and most consistent with the overall style and positioning of "LIGHT" topics.

In the first few years after joining Xingchao, Alex Ye was so busy that he often forgot to eat, which damaged his stomach. After being promoted to executive editor, he became more familiar with the work and had the assistance of Emma Sha. As he grew older, his mentality gradually became calmer.

After a busy morning and lunch, Alex Ye walked alone on the way back to the office.

There were not many people in the corridor during lunch break. Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and looking out, I could see tall buildings everywhere. The sunlight was absorbed into the clouds, leaving only a light gray haze.

"It looks like it's going to rain tonight."

A drawn-out tone floated slowly from behind Alex Ye. Alex Ye did not turn around. The person who spoke slowly approached, put his hands in his pockets, and looked out the window at the sky with him.

"How are you doing recently? I heard that there is a new handsome guy in your department. He graduated from a famous foreign university. He is tall and handsome, and has the same style as you did back then."

Alex Ye then looked at the man next to him. He was wearing thin-rimmed glasses, had slightly graying temples, and looked like a gentle and elegant middle-aged uncle. It was the editor-in-chief Liang that Emma Sha had mentioned in the morning. His full name was Daniel Liang, and he had been his predecessor when he first joined the company.

"Is it the one from the last interview?" Daniel Liang touched his chin and recalled: "What was his name..."

Alex Ye took over the conversation: "I heard it."

"Yes, that's the name. Single women in our office have been talking about him recently. It's obvious that he's very popular in the company." Daniel Liang then sighed, "He's only 27 years old, so young."

Alex Ye also sighed: "Yes, so young."

Daniel Liang glanced at him: "Why are you sighing? You are also very young."

Alex Ye shook his head: "I'm already over thirty years old."

Daniel Liang: "Only in his thirties."

Alex Ye corrected: "Next year I will be thirty-five."

Daniel Liang: "Time flies by so fast."

Alex Ye: "Is that so?"

Daniel Liang hummed: "But I still want to retire early."

Alex Ye couldn't help but laugh.

They walked side by side in the corridor, chatting casually, and stopped at the same time when they turned the corner.

A tall and straight figure stood in front of me, standing sideways facing the floor-to-ceiling window. His facial features were deep and clear. The young man was making a phone call, but the content could not be heard clearly due to the distance, and his expression showed a solemn look.

Daniel Liang spoke first: "Isn't this the handsome guy?" Then, he looked at the figure and said seriously, "What do you think of him?"

Alex Ye commented calmly: "Very good."

As if he heard their voices, Ethan turned his head and looked over. When he saw Alex Ye, his tightly furrowed brows slowly relaxed. After saying a few words, he ended the phone call and walked towards them.

Daniel Liang raised his hand to glance at his watch, patted Alex Ye's shoulder, and said, "I have something else to do later. I'll leave first."

Alex Ye nodded.

"Editor-in-Chief Ye."

Ethan also greeted him, glanced in the direction Daniel Liang left, and walked in front of Alex Ye.

Alex Ye asked: "Did I bother you?"

Liam Wen hurriedly said, "No."

Alex Ye then introduced him: "The one just now is Editor Simon from the Book Department. He used to work in the Magazine Department. You should have heard of him."

"Yeah. I've heard of it." Liam Wen walked beside him, "Editor-in-Chief Liang and you have a good relationship."

Alex Ye nodded: "When I first joined the company, I was assigned to work as an editor under Lao Liang. I have known him for almost eight years."

Liam Wen was much taller than him, and Alex Ye would always look up unconsciously when he looked at him. "He just praised you in front of me, saying that there is a handsome guy in our department, who is tall and handsome and very popular in the company."

Alex Ye pulled his lower lip and said, "Everyone likes you very much."

Being praised like this in person, Ethan felt a little embarrassed and touched the tip of his nose. After listening to him, he was silent for a while and asked in a very soft voice.

"And you?"
